As you explore this website, you will quickly discover that The Awty International School is a complex and fascinating one.

The School is governed by a Board of Trustees, composed of representatives from the Mission Laïque Française, parents of current and former students, representatives from major businesses and legal professionals.

Awty is a complex establishment because it is the result of the fusion of a Texas school offering its students the International Baccalaureate from Geneva , and a scholastic institution accredited by the French Ministry of Education offering the French Baccalaureate under the Mission Laïque Française.

Duly upholding the values of the Mission Laïque Française – "2 cultures, 3 languages", the French Bilingual Section of the Awty International School has appointed itself several missions:

• Guarantee families, particularly expatriate French families, quality education conforming to the official curricular guidelines set by the French Ministry of Education. Thus our students are able to pursue studies in France or in any other French schools worldwide.

• Take the utmost advantage of the uniqueness of our School’s situation, offering students the opportunity to become bilingual by ensuring up to 7 hours of English each week. For example, in Preschool, instruction is given in equal amounts: 1 day in French, 1 day in English. In the High School, students may follow the International Option of the BAC or IOB (History, Geography and Literature taught in English).

• Maintain its excellent record for testing scores and results (National Brevet Diploma, Baccalaureate)

• Promote French Language and Culture among the local population and within the entire student community of The Awty International School.

But to reduce The Awty International School or the French Bilingual Section to simply a language-oriented school would be to neglect an important aspect of the School’s Mission . Awty welcomes 1100 students from every corner of the Earth (over fifty different nationalities). Our School is a social environment where the values of citizenship, respect, brotherhood, understanding and integration are daily practices. A great number of shared activities (common classes, recreation periods, field trips, clubs and events) allow our students to be a part of many different groups, where French, French-speaking, American and foreign students come together and coexist.

The Awty International School is a School of excellence, as evidenced by its Baccalaureate results (100% passing rate with 80% receiving honors) and the Post-Baccalaureate endeavors of its students (Grandes Ecoles, prestigious universities). Class sizes are extremely small, which means students benefit from individualized teaching and supervision.
